Terms of Service

By using Roommate AI, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Eligibility

You must be a current student at an accredited US college with a valid .edu email address. You must be 13 years or older. You agree that all information you provide is accurate.

2. The service

Roommate AI uses AI to suggest potentially compatible roommates based on profile information you and other users provide. We do not guarantee compatibility, friendship, or successful housing arrangements. The decision to live with another student is yours alone.

3. User conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Impersonate another person or provide false information.
• Use the service to harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users.
• Share another user's photos, messages, or personal information outside the app without consent.
• Use the service for any commercial purpose other than finding a roommate (no advertising, recruiting, or sales).
• Attempt to scrape, hack, or otherwise abuse the service.

We may suspend or terminate your account for any violation, at our sole discretion.

4. Safety disclaimer

Roommate AI is a connection tool, not a vetting service.We do not run background checks, verify identities beyond email, or guarantee that users are who they claim to be. Always meet potential roommates in public places, trust your instincts, and consult with parents, friends, or your school's housing office before signing a lease.

5. Premium subscriptions

Premium ($8 per month) is a recurring monthly subscription that unlocks unlimited matches and additional features. You may cancel at any time and will retain access until the end of your billing period. Refunds are available within 7 days of your initial purchase if you have not yet had a mutual match. After 7 days or if you have matched, payments are final.

6. Intellectual property

Roommate AI and its design, logo, and code are owned by us. You retain ownership of the photos and content you upload, but grant us a license to display them within the app for matching purposes.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, the accuracy of AI compatibility scores, or that you will find a roommate.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roommate AI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including damages from interactions with other users, lease disputes, or roommate conflicts.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via the app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
